To grow ashwagandha, sow seeds 0.5-1 cm deep in well-drained soil with a pH of 7-8.5. Water sparingly and provide adequate sunlight. When seedlings emerge, thin them to 45-60 cm apart. Mulch around plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize with a balanced organic fertilizer and monitor plants for pests and diseases. Harvest roots after 120-150 days, when they turn brown and fibrous.
